Nowadays there was a difficult economic situation. But similar circumstances should not do us incapable of sympathy and compassion to those who requires our care and protection. It is a question of the main thing – about children, about those who cannot take care about themselves yet.

The most important thing for the child is a family. But not each kid has the luck to be born in a safe family where parents quiveringly care of him. Thrown children appear in shelters, boarding schools, children's homes or is even worse – in the street.

Financing of such social institutions leaves much to be desired, especially during crisis time. If city children's homes and shelters receive though any grants from the state or from the commercial enterprises the similar child care centres located in suburb, are doomed to a survival.

Therefore in company "Continent" has been decided to continue a charitable direction in other foreshortening: to help those who really requires the help and who will not receive this help from anybody another. We will help the children's shelter "Glowworm" located in Tikhvin.

The children’s shelter «Glowworm» being the only in Tikhvin’s area has 3 branches of activity with the aim to help children:

• the 1st direction - a boarding school: 31 children live in a boarding school. They are children, whose parents for any reasons are deprived the parental rights.
• the 2nd direction – the help centre: children do not live in this group constantly, they and come every day to prepare lessons, have dinner, go in for sports. In this group there are children from needy and large families.
• the 3rd direction – family care groups: children which families have got to difficult vital circumstances here find.
